Why the Milestone RotoSYNTH? |
|
|
|
The limitations of the "conventional" laboratory microwave reactors.
The main limitation of most microwave reactors currently available on the market is their inability to properly mix heterogeneous reaction mixtures, particularly in case of ‘thick’ media. This limitation is even more evident when dealing with large quantities of solids. In such cases magnetic or even mechanical stirrers, although improving the bulk homogeneity, are not capable of achieving good results.
How the RotoSYNTH works
-
Milestone's unique RotoSYNTH system consists of state-of-the-art microwave platform, with a reaction vessel tilted at 45o. This platform can be used with other standard reaction vessels/rotors simply by removing the rotating vessel.
-
The standard reactor is made of borosilicate glass with volumes of 300 mL and 2 liters.
-
Reaction temperatures is monitored and controlled by dual (contact-less infrared and direct fiber optic) sensors.
-
RotoSYNTH allows processes under inert and atmospheric pressure.
-
The vessel can also be coupled to a vacuum module for the removal or recovery of volatile organics or solvent during microwave irradiation.
