The PYRO is an industrial grade unit designed for intensive laboratory use: its 18/8 stainless steel microwave cavity is enclosed by an 18/8 stainless steel cabinet. The stainless steel cavity door is hinged at the bottom and protected by an insulating ceramic fiber. This key feature not only ensures that the cavity door is thermally resistant, but allows the operator to use the door as a convenient loading platform. The door and cavity have a multi-layer PTFE plasma coating, applied at 350°C, to protect against corrosion.
Installed microwave power is 1200W which is delivered via a unique diffuser with mode stirrer. The mode stirrer insures even distribution of microwave power, eliminating localized hot and cold spots, while a built-in, high-precision thermocouple* further ensures accuracy and reproducibility. A built-in, high-volume exhaust fan which insures all fumes are quickly and efficiently removed.
Unlike other systems, the user control electronics and user display have been moved out of the mainframe into a separate control module, protecting them from possible corrosion from acid fumes. All PYROs come standard with an industrial grade control terminal and feature EasyCONTROL software - the most powerful software ever designed for microwave ashing. Its features and capabilities minimize method development, increase productivity, improve ashing quality and also help to make the PYRO the safest microwave ashing system available.
A DKD-certified dual thermocouple is available as an option. This allows for temperature control of the muffle through a certified thermometer.
